How is Yellow practicing ethics and sustainability? 

We are on an imperfect journey of ethics and sustainability within fashion.  As a young business we are constantly learning in an industry with very little traceability. This is one reason why we offer some preorders. Preorders reduce waste and overproduction that would otherwise end up in landfills. We hold all manufactures that we work with to our high standards of ethics, and they are screened prior to working for ethical standards, including the health and safety of workers and fair wages in their factories. Many are audited by SMETA standards.

We believe in slow fashion, which can be frustrating for our loyal customers who want quick restocks when favorites sell out. Most products have at least two of these qualities: 

  • made in a women-owned factory

  • made with sustainable fabric 

  • made in an ethically certified factory 

We operate in an industry where traceability is limited and truly sustainable options can be hard to access. Because of this, we view sustainability + ethics as an ongoing commitment rather than a fixed endpoint. Our strategy is rooted in transparency and continuous improvement. 

Fabric Sustainability Report of Clothing Products (Data from January 2025 through June 2026)

  • 50.4% of clothing was made with 100% sustainable fibers (linen, cotton, cashmere, silk, tencel).

  • 73.3% of clothing was made with sustainable fabrics, recycled fabrics, or a sustainable/synthetic blend.

  • 4.3% of clothing supported artisan work with hand-beading, although not made with sustainable fabrics.

  • 22.4% of clothing had no sustainability component.

Please note: These metrics are separate from swimwear. All swimwear fabric is made at a mill in northern Italy and sewn by a small women-owned factory in southern Italy. Swim hardware is made at a small factory in central Italy. Most swimwear is recycled fabric.

We will continue to monitor these metrics transparently.

What if I want to return or exchange my Yellow items?

We accept returns and exchanges of full priced clothing within 14 days of your delivery!

Sale items, accessories, and any other items listed under the “EXTRAS” tab are final sale and therefore ineligible for return of any kind (including refund, store credit, or exchange).

Returned items must be in their original condition with all tags attached and are subject to denial if they do not meet our policies. Items will be automatically denied if they are returned with stains, damages, detached or removed tags, detached or removed hygienic swimwear liner, fragrance, animal/human hair, any pieces are missing (i.e. swimwear or athleticwear padding, top or bottom if sold exclusively as a set), or signs of wear.

For US customers: If you are opting for a refund, this will be subject to a $14.99 restocking fee, which will be deducted from the refund total. This fee will be waived if "exchange" or "store credit" is chosen.

For international customers: You will be subject to the return shipping cost. If you are opting for a refund, shipping will be deducted from the refund total. If you are opting for an exchange, return shipping will be available for you to purchase in the Return Portal when you submit your exchange.

Original shipping costs (including duties and taxes if applicable) are not subject to refunds.

Please allow up to 10 business days for your return to be processed once it reaches our warehouse. If we cannot accommodate your exchange request due to depleted inventory, you will automatically be refunded instead. If your order was purchased using both a gift card and a credit/debit card, refunds will be applied to the gift card first, with any remaining balance refunded to the credit/debit card. Refunds are typically immediate, but they can take up to 10 business days to fully process, depending on your banking institution.

Meta orders are subject to their respective policies.

If you feel that you are experiencing a manufacturing issue, please submit a comment (when prompted) in your return request via the Return Portal or contact our customer service team at contact@yllwthelabel.com prior to the return. While we stand behind our quality promise, Yellow is not responsible for issues due to external forces.

When will my order be shipped/delivered?

Most of our orders are shipped within 1-2 business days of purchase (excluding preorders). If you purchase an item on preorder, the estimated shipping timeframe can be found in the first line of the item’s description on our website.

For US customers: Orders placed with standard shipping are estimated to arrive within 4-5 business days of fulfillment, while orders placed with express shipping are estimated to arrive within 2 business days of fulfillment.

For international customers: Orders placed with priority shipping are estimated to arrive within 7-10 business days of fulfillment, while orders placed with express shipping are estimated to arrive within 2-3 business days of fulfillment.

Please note that fulfillment and delivery timeframes provided on our website are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed due to factors outside our control. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with tracking details. Carriers will provide ETAs specific to your delivery.

Yellow Friday Orders: Thank you so much for the overwhelming response to our annual Yellow Friday sale! Our team is working around the clock to fulfill orders as quickly and carefully as possible. Because of the surge in volume, order processing may take longer than usual during our yearly sitewide sale. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking as soon as your order is on its way. Thank you for your patience and for supporting our small brand—we truly appreciate you.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we offer Passport Global international shipping for all of our items. Limitations are subject to Passport's restrictions.

How much is international shipping?

The cost of shipping depends on the size of your order and the delivery location. Our commitment to you is that we are 100% transparent with all international shipping costs upfront. We strictly ship DDP (delivery duties paid). Applicable duties and taxes are based on the receiving country's policies and procedures.

What if my Yellow items are on preorder?

Some of our most popular products have experienced so much demand that we now have them on preorder for two reasons: 1) to reduce waste and overproduction, and 2) to prevent sellouts. All products listed as preorders will be marked in their descriptions as preorders and will have their estimated shipment timelines listed in their descriptions.

Can I cancel or adjust my order after it is placed?

Unfortunately, order cancellations or changes after checking out are not able to be accepted in most cases due to our quick fulfillment process.

We are, respectfully, not responsible for customer input errors and encourage all customers to double check their information before placing their order as the order. This includes quantities, sizes, addresses, promo codes, etc.

If your order is returned to us due to a customer input error, such as an incorrect shipping address, please reach out to us at contact@yllwthelabel.com.

Will you be restocking? 

We try to keep all of our items in stock, but as a growing small business, sometimes our most popular items do sell out. We try to restock said items as soon as they come in. To be notified as soon as something is available, you can select your size + "text me when this restocks" on our website!
